Henry Cavill and Amy Adams ALS Ice Bucket Challenge on the set of Batman V Superman

actors who completely understand the characters they play and defend them to dumbass interviewers deserve the world and have my heart tbh.

“The longer I’m alive, the more I realize how little I know. Pretending that you know everything about every topic, and being very vocal about it. That’s an instant turnoff.”
Lois Lane in Man of Steel:Untraditional? You bet. Smart? Incredibly. By removing the most baffling barrier between Lois and Clark, Snyder has allowed for us to bypass a bunch of misdirection and near-gotchas in favor of building a bond early, setting the stage for some major danger for Lois (who wants to bet that the next film will see some evil villain capturing Lois to lure Superman?), and cutting away a large piece of origin story that this new origin story simply doesn’t need. Even better? The decision to clue Lois into the reality of things immediately fits her character in a way that her inability to recognize someone just wearing glasses never did. Lois Lane is a smart lady, let’s just keep her that way.
Bringing this back because it’s important. If you ask me, besides Clark revealing himself and saving the world, Lois being written like she knew what she was doing and that she wasn’t afraid to seek out the truth no matter the consequences. It was one of best things about Man of Steel, if not the best!
Clark just stood off by himself, watching it all ‘like a cat looks at a doorknob,’ as my mother used to say… Looking at something he couldn’t figure out.
~Superman: Earth One, Volume 2
this is GOLDEN, chan. this scene is so important to me, it really is my favourite. so many things tackled in this single scene — misogyny, masculinity, mob mentality, apathy, bullying, kindness, compassion, strength of character. and at the center of it is this man, who was probably hearing is father’s voice telling him that he gets to choose what kind of man he’s going to be. it takes incredible strength of character not to bash ludlow’s face in with a mere flick of his finger and show everyone exactly what he’s capable of. in that pub where no one else stood up for chrissy. clark shows a different kind of masculinity here — he doesn’t pander to the showboating of strength and swagger in a testosterone-heavy environment. even though he’s been publicly humiliated.
i’ve said it before but i’ll keep saying it till kingdom come — there was only one real man in that room, and he wasn’t even human.
THERE WAS ONLY ONE REAL MAN IN THAT ROOM AND HE WASN’T EVEN HUMAN
"I never liked apples. In fact, when I was a little girl, my mom wanted to give me apples in my lunch box and I would ask for green peppers. So bizarre… It’s funny - I don’t have an apple a day, but I can say that I have a few a week…”
